cats and guinea pigs together
While guinea pigs may look big they are actually smaller than your average rat. Some cats consider guinea pigs to be potential food while other cats make friends with guinea pigs.
So a cat can eat your guinea pig if you dont pay attention and dont keep your cavy in a safe and predator-proof hutch.
. However being cautious is always recommended. Cats were originally bred to control the rat population on farms ships and other places. Even if cats and guinea pigs become friends letting them spend time together is dangerous.
Cats are hunters and their main prey is rodents. Cats are predators and guinea pigs are prey animals. Cats and guinea pigs cannot get along with any sort of predictability.
The stereotype of cats and guinea pigs is that while one is a predator the other is a prey animal. However with some training and supervision you can have both of them as pets without any hassle. While some cats get along with the guinea pigs quite well others look them as a food source only.
They usually have no problem killing a rat.
